The change in net assets relates to the
use of prior year balances, including designated
funds for emergencies, and a reduction in the on-hand inventory of
CWS Kits.
Church World Service is tax exempt under
section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to
Church World Service are tax deductible. The CWS financial records
are audited
by independent auditors in accordance with guidelines established
by the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants. The auditor's report and/or the CWS
990 is available upon request. Church World Service has been given
a four-star rating
for sound fiscal management
by
the charity evaluator Charity
Navigator.
