Speak Out to Make a Difference
Take action on policy decisions affecting immigration and refugees.

The Washington, D.C.-based CWS/IRP Advocacy Program seeks to protect uprooted people by:

  • monitoring public policies and practices toward refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide and toward immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, asylees, and other migrants in the United States;
  • representing CWS/IRP's public policy positions to members of Congress and their staff, and participating in the development of policies and practices that protect uprooted populations;
  • reporting on policy issues affecting uprooted people to CWS/IRP program staff, member communions, and ecumenical and secular agency colleagues; and
  • working in collaboration with a number of advocacy partners in refugee resettlement and protection organizations to build a hospitable community in the United States for immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants.
